About the Walkabout

From his mobile potting shed table, gardener Hugh Bushey Babcock shares his green fingered secrets. Meet his prize winning, walking, talking psychic plants. With a little audience participation they use their powers of clairvoyance to deduce people’s favourite vegetables, demonstrate the giant carrot chopper (mind your fingers on the guillotine – they could end up in the soup!) and miraculously raise a drooping rose from almost certain death.

“Mind Your Peas and Cues” features Leia the prize winning giant leek, Hugh’s pride and joy and certainly his favourite vegetable.

“Big Bloomers” features a choice of Flowers: Daphne the beautiful Daffodil, perfect for Mother’s day and Easter parades or Saskia the overly optimistic Sunflower spreading sunshine all year round. Water regularly and keep out of direct sunlight.

What to expect

This act allows you to choose from a beautifully costumed giant stilt Leek, Daffodil or Sunflower, to accompany Hugh the gardener with his potting shed table that plays pastoral music. As the table is wheeled about they pause their important gardening duties to perform several short static spots. Drawing a small- to medium-sized crowd around them they perform a series of garden-themed magic and mind-reading tricks, much to the delight of audience members young and old.
